Frontline Youth Ministry

Frontline Youth Ministry of South Hill Bible Church is for students in grades 7-12. We like to think of Frontline as a "Fun place to get serious about Jesus" The name is representative of us being at the frontline of God's work in our youth culture. It is our hope that those involved in the Youth Group will become firmly grounded in their faith, will have a greater desire to know God and to make Him known, and will begin to experience the great and exciting adventure of the Christian life - Christ's life living in and through us!

Purpose Statement:

To come alongside, support & empower parents as the primary faith influencers of their children and in their God given responsibility to disciple and train up godly young men and women who love the Lord and are on the "frontline" to see Christ magnified.

Philosophy:

The ministry philosophy for the Frontline Youth Ministries at SHBC is driven by the Great Commission given to Jesus' disciples in Matthew 28:19-20a: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you..."

Goals:

Frontline Youth Ministries has 2 primary goals derived from the Great Commission:

1. Evangelism - Go Wide - Go into all the world and make disciples of every nation.

2. Discipleship - Grow Deep - Teaching them to obey everything I have commanded.

It is our passion to truly see teens not only own their faith but also spread it through active, appropriate evangelism. The object is to take teens, with the help of the Holy Spirit, parents, adult sponsors and others, on a spiritual journey past their internal spiritual apathy into spiritual interest and then finally, on to a life of exciting and passionate worship of our King, the Creator of the Universe. We want to make disciples (Grow Deep) who make disciples (Go Wide).

Youth Sponsors

Youth Sponsors are the most vital part of Frontline Youth Ministry. Youth Sponsors have a heart for teenagers becoming Disciples of Christ who understand and live out Christ's life within them and then seeing these teenagers become energized to go and make Disciples of Christ. Youth need older people pouring into them, speaking truth into their lives, and modeling the Christian life for them. Our goal is to support and partner in whatever way possible with parents in their responsibility to bring up their children in the love and knowledge of our Lord. Also, in order to provide a safe and spiritually healthy and mature environment for all the youth involved in Frontline Youth Ministry, we need a certain number of Youth Sponsors committed.
